Welcome to progressive lakeshore people!
Being progressive refers to a mindset or ideology that advocates for social reform, open-mindedness, and a
commitment to addressing inequalities and injustices in society.
We are living in unprecedented times: we need to come together to save our democracy, support each other, and build community.
This group is designed for communication of where, when, and how we will be protesting respectfully and legally as well as creating events
that will further the goals of progressive ideals.

Progressive Lakeshore People Resolution
Progressive Lakeshore People hereby affirms our unwavering commitment to:
• Reject and condemn all acts of hate, racism, and discrimination;
• Advance equity, inclusion, and justice within our institutions and in our daily lives;
• Support and uplift marginalized voices throughout our community;
• Foster open dialogue, education, and mutual understanding across differences;
• Practice and promote nonviolence, and prioritize de-escalation in moments of conflict;
• Act with courage and accountability in confronting bias and injustice wherever it arises.
Be it further resolved that we call upon all members of our community to join us in this commitment, working collectively to build a future grounded in compassion, fairness, shared humanity, and peaceful engagement.

Engage
Progressive Lakeshore People are active in current events. We care about others and how government policy affects the vulnerable. We are generous in donating to charitable causes. We engage in our community.
The Friend’s Kitchen! This is just part of our weekly crew that prepares the Community Meals at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. In all there are 10 of us that gather on Tuesdays &/or Wednesdays to prepare 150-170 free meals for our neighbors. We all agree that the 3 hours a week we spend doing this good work feeds us too. PLP loves our neighbors.

Change
Progressive Lakeshore People advocate for change. We have a vision for an equitable future for all, where every person is loved and valued for their inherent human dignity.
